Timber Wolf Charters is an Alaskan family owned charter fishing and back country guiding company.  Timber Wolf Charters works as the fishing division with Alaska Charters & Adventures, an Alaskan guiding company with an exceptional 21 year history in Alaska.

 We specialize in first rate attention to detail and personalized angling experiences where quality is never compromised.  Our portfolio of guided sport fishing services is very diverse.  Offering trips that range from single day charters for 1 to 2 expert anglers to multi-day all inclusive packages for groups that have very little fishing experience.

 It’s our specialty to hand craft epic fishing adventures for a wide range of target species and styles of fishing.  We pride ourselves in our safety record and top quality equipment and fishing guides.

Captain/Guide Profile:

John A. Yeager – As owner and captain of the vessel “Timber Wolf”, he is the primary captain and fishing guide for Timber Wolf and Alaska Charters & Adventures.  He has been an avid outdoorsman and fisherman for his entire life and became a full time professional fishing guide after retiring from the US Coast Guard.  Being a professional fishing guide is a perfect fit for John because he prides himself with his thorough and thoughtful commitment to preparation and attention to detail.  John is outgoing and has a great sense of humor. He truly enjoys making new friends and putting them on the fish. 

John holds a USCG 100 ton Masters License.  Has extensive military and civilian training from Emergency Medical training to Port Security Operations.  He is Alaska state certified Naturalist, certified Alaska Cultural Host, and is on the Wrangell Fish & Game Advisory Board.  During part of the year, John is a commercial halibut fisherman and assistant big game guide.  He sits on several fishery related committees and is also a recognized writer for several fishing publications.  He is also a pro staff guide for many premium fishing tackle and outdoor gear manufacturers.
